The Okavango Delta is the world’s largest inland delta, and as you travel down it in a dugout canoe, you will be able to see buffalo, crocodile and hippos. It’s a major tourist attraction you won’t want to miss. On the eastern side of the delta you will find the Moremi Game Reserve. Here you will find close to 500 species of birds, as well as Cape buffalo, Angolan giraffe, black rhinoceros, lion, elephant, hippopotamus, zebra, cheetah, hyena, jackal, impala, and red lechwe. The endangered Cape wild dogs also live on this reserve.
Nearby is the Chobe National Park, which is Botswana’s first national park, and by far the most diverse. It also known to have one of the greatest concentrations of game in all of Africa, and visitors are known to see vast herds of elephants, buffalo, zebra, giraffes and wildebeest, as well as the king of the jungle himself, the mighty lion. 450 different species of birds also inhabit the area, including spectacular flocks of flamingos.
