South Africa
The land at the foot of the African continent is a challenge. It is a melting pot of many peoples…many cultures…many differences… but all with a deep love of this beautiful land.
South Africa is often called A World in One Country and for good reason. From the spectacular heights of the Drakenburgs to the sandy beaches and rolling green hills of the beautiful Garden Route, South Africa offers a myriad ways to experience its hospitality.
A prime destination for a wildlife safari is Kruger National Park where over 700 species of animals, birds and reptiles flourish. Many other game and nature reserves offer habitats as diverse as the fertile sub-tropical Zululand to the desert wastelands of the Northern Cape.
Along its coastline and deep inland, fast paced and growing cities support a thriving multi-ethnic population. Johannesburg with its glass and crystal skyline lies across a ridge still laden with gold. Pretoria and Bloemfontein are stately inland cities, while Port Elizabeth and Durban are seaside holiday regions. And further south lies the Mother City – Cape Town. A thriving city that embraces the many cultures of the country, Cape Town nestles in the shadow of the imposing, flat-topped Table Mountain.
At the continent’s tip where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet is called “the fairest Cape” with a coastline recognised as one of the most beautiful in the world. From here you find splendid examples of Cape Dutch architecture, many picturesque fishing villages and can explore the many wine routes to sample the celebrated wines, comparable with the best in the world.
Further east along the renowned Garden Route and the subtropical Natal Cost are many glorious beaches with quiet seaside hamlets and luxury resorts.
